Well Rorrie, today was your Jie Jie's 3rd Gottcha Day! We started out by giving Elrik a pair of Mickey pjs as his gift and Kassidy got a new chinese outfit to wear today. Then we got out the earth from China for Kassidy to see and touch and read her the Some where in China a Mother Remembers book. This year we had the camcorder so we taped it... Elrik was not very quite during the reading but we got through it.
Then we had a light breakfast and headed out to meet up with Nona, YeYe, YiPow & Zia at the Echo Museum at the Burlington Waterfront. They had a dinosaur exhibit that your siblings were all excited to see. I think their favorite part was playing in the play area, seeing the great BIG fish, and digging for dinosaur fossile eggs and playing with the water fountain.
We then went out for lunch and Kassidy had a MaMa made Mickey Mouse bowl of icecream. Then we went home and MaMa needed to got to work.
Everyone had a fairly good day - it rained so we could not play outsite and we couldn't go for a long walk to see the boats : (
We called Natalie yesterday and wished them Happy Gottcha Day - she had already left us a message but we weren't home.
On Tuesday we had the funeral for your Great, Great, Great Uncle Johnnie. He passed away on 7/13 and just missed his 99th birthday. He was the last brother left of MaMa's Nona's siblings. It was a hard week for the family this week.
The current rumors are talking about the increase in the Child Rearing Donation which your BaBa and I think is long overdue. We had no idea that the standard fee had not increased since 1992 and I am sure that the orphanages could use the additional funds to help with the children left behind.
Well the night is over at work and I am heading home to be with your BaBa, brother & sister. We are anxious to have you home with us. But as it is probably a long time away we will just keep you in our prayers. And remember..... Kisses in the Wind.
