Tuesday is doctor check up day, our anniversary and a relax day

So today we had a very quiet day. The pediatrician came to the hotel
today and saw all the babies. Rorrie looks perfectly fine, but one of
the babies has bronchittis and chickenpox... poor Charlotte. So all the
other babies may have been exposed, but who knows. So we will find out
in 10-20 days... and that will put us just about the time we are
traveling home until some time through the new year.

We spent some time in the playroom area today and Rorrie "played" with
Lauren (well as much as a 10 month old and a 14 month old can play
together). Poor Drew (Lauren's Dad) she has taken to her mom and
doesn't think much of her dad. Part of the time there she put her head
on the floor to avoid looking at him and then when ever she could she
turned her back on him. He is a good experienced dad (he as three boys
at home) and very humourous man and seems to be taking it in good
stride. The twins were there playing as well. They are just over 2.5
years old, identical and as the doctor said very skinny. Their parents
said that the information they received was they were both premature and
they knew they were skinny so that was not news to them.
They seem to be adjusting pretty well, both of them go to their mom but
the older daughter is not a big fan of her father yet.

Rorrie still prefers her BaBa but is warming up to me quickly. She
smiles and comes to me but still looks all round for BaBa when ever he
leaves the room. So she was very happy when she woke up from her
afternoon nap to find that her BaBa held her the whole nap and MaMa was
sitting there too. She really gave us some big smiles, waves, grins and
played the clucking noise game with her mouth. It appears she has two
words right now... BaBa and Bu (which means NO). She yells bu to us
every time we try to change her diaper or her cloths.

We went out to dinner at a local restuarant with the group tonight to
celebrate the babies' new family, Mindy's birthday and our anniversary.
It was a good meal but I felt really bad for Kalvin because he was still
playing it safe and only ate white rice and brocolli. But in the
morning he said he is going to try some light breakfast food, nothing
greesy, and see how he is doing.

Tomorrow we are going to try and do some sight seeing pending the
weather. They are having a good wind storm with some rain and predicted
to maybe get snow. So it is really really cold for the native people of
Nanchang right now. The wind is very blustery but since it is just
around freezing it isn't really bad for Kalvin & I. Later in the
afternoon Evelyn will take either Kalvin or I (probably Kalvin since he
didn't get to go to Walmart the other day) and we are going to buy a new
washing machine for the baby's diapers. Several of Kalvin's
friends/coworkers generously donate funds for us to do something special
for the orphanage for Christmas this year. The orphanage staff and our
guides are very very appreciate of the offer and were excited that they
could get the new washer which they really needed badly.

Oh my! That washing machine will probably be about the best gift to them. Great idea!
