Today we had our tour of Hong Kong. This time we didn’t get rained out by a monsoon!
We toured up to the peak to take pictures of the main island but it was foggy and we didn’t get a good clear shot. We did a little shopping at the same Stanley market place we went last time. We were able to pick up 12 outfits , four boy style, two baby and 8 girls. We haven’t been able to find anything like the dress one of our friends is looking for… but we are still looking.
We visited the jewelry shop again and made two purchases for gottcha day gifts. So we now have two and just 16 more to go! The last family arrived today… they got stuck because of a mechanical delay and missed their flight to Hong Kong yesterday. But they caught up with us for lunch, they seem in good spirits, so all is well that ends well.
We are on our own for the rest of the day. We did a little walking about at a mall… nothing special but at least I didn’t go to sleep. Kalvin is resting now and we have one or two families that may go out to dinner tonight maybe to Outback steak house. One last chance for an American style meal before heading to mainland China. Our lunch today was part of the tour…. Dim Sum… at the same restaurant as last time and it was good. The sweet & sour pork was amazing…. Just like last time. Too bad we can’t get it like that in the states.
So I am going to call the others to see about a time for dinner and we need to be back her between 8-8:30 so we can skype the kids at home and then get to bed. They want to pick up the luggage at 7:45am tomorrow morning as we are leaving the hotel at 9:00am for our flight that departs to Nanchang at 11:30ish. The flight to Nanchang will be about 1 hrs and 20 mins…. We passed over the city on our way to Hong Kong… Our flight path actually had us leave JFK and go north over NY State… we could have seen VT if we had not been away from the windows. Then over Canada towards Greenland, across the north pole, past Alaska and then down over what use to be the Soviet Union (countries I can’t pronounce) to China, past Beijing, past Nanchang and then to Hong Kong. It kinds seems a shame to now fly back the same way to then back track to Guangzhou (past HK) later… but oh well.
I hope these two pictures come along with the post. They are a picture of the building with a hole in it so the dragon that lives in the caves on the mountain behind it could fly out, a picture of a fisher family boat drying fish – they live on these house boats and never come ashore, and a picture from the peak looking at the city.

The pictures came through fine. Interesting fish storage, huh?

Don says he hope you're doing good and hopes you both don't get diarrhea from the food. he he
I don't remember the building that the dragon goes through. Very cool! I just love how the Chinese think when it comes to Architecture. It really is a beautiful building.
Miss ya but cannot wait to see more pictures!\
Love ya!
